Sponsorship

The Lloydminster Oil and Gas Open Bonspiel  is back on the calendar, March 12 - 15th, 2026.

Let's talk for a minute about the longevity of this Bonspiel which was first established in 1968. It has become an integral part of the local oil and gas community over the years. We have seen a lot of growth and change in the industry, and events such as this bonspiel keep us all connected while doing what we love every day. The Oil and Gas Industry plays an important role in our day-to-day lives and we believe in celebrating those who that have dedicated their years to the industry.

Your sponsorship consideration is greatly appreciated. The Bonspiel was first hosted with the idea to bring us all together and continues to reflect on the recent challenges and successes in our industry to build a positive future. After 55 years, it's still going strong. We look forward to seeing you around the rink in the near future.

2025 Sponsors

Oilman of the Year

2026 - GORD ROHS

Gord was born in Wilkie, Saskatchewan. He grew up on the family farm near Handel, and that is where he got his good work ethics.

Gord attended school in Handel and after high school he started working at the Handel Co-op driving fuel truck. In 1976 we was accepted into Auto Mechanics School at Kelsey Institute in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. After Kelsey, he managed the Co-op in Handel before moving to Sparwood, BC where he worked at a surface coal mine while completing his Heavy Duty Mechanics trade.

Five years later he moved back to Saskatchewan and working as a mechanic at a garage in Denzil, Saskatchewan followed by a stint at the Ford dealership in Provost, Alberta.

His oilfield career started when he accepted a position running a service truck and Nusco Pipe & Supply where he was a contract mechanic for Pan Canadian. After a few short months he was hired by Pan Canadian to head up their mechanic team. He worked at Pan Canadian for 5 years before accepting a Service Management position at National Oilwell in Lloydminster. Gord and his family made the move to Lloydminster and it became their permanent home.

In 1997 he started Wild Rohs Pump & Mechanical but after a short time went to work for Corlac Pump and Mechanical as the Pump Service Manager.

In June of 2000 Gord started Kelro Pump & Mechanical serving the oil industry in both Alberta and Saskatchewan. He owned and managed Kelro up until 2024 when he sold the business to his son Brent and two staff members who are journeyman millwrights. They plan to continue to provide the high level of service required by the industry.

Retirement came in October of 2024 when Gord bought an acreage outside of Lloydminster. He spends his time maintaining the acreage, playing with his horses, enjoying time at the cabin and watching his grandchildren participate in many activities.

Congratulations Gord on being selected as the 2026 Oilman of the Year!
